Blues and Rock n’ Roll

Jackson, located halfway between Memphis, the birthplace of rock n roll and blues, and Nashville, country music’s capital, has its own musical heritage. Jackson TN embraces and shares its musical heritage with the world.

Each May through October, you can enjoy free concerts at an outdoor amphitheater in downtown Jackson. The concert features local and regional musicians and movies shown on a big screen. The AMP is a favorite among families. It also features food vendors, and it’s a great spot to take your children for a night under the stars.

Carl Perkins is buried at the Ridgecrest Cemetery, Jackson, where he created Blue Suede Shoes, among other hits. His guitar and other memorabilia are displayed at the Legends of Tennessee Music Museum.

Historic Downtown

Jackson is a cultural destination that’s often overlooked. Most people associate Tennessee with hot sauce and whiskey, but there are many other attractions. Music lovers can explore the history of early rock-and-roll at the Stax Museum, and how it changed the globe at the International Rock-A-Billy Hall of Fame.

Rusty Robinson’s TV and Movie Car Museum features 50 cars from popular TV and movies. The Tennessee Legends of Music Museum highlights the musical careers of Sonny Boy Williamson, a blues harmonica player, and Tina Turner.

Jackson Farmers Market is a great place to shop for artisanal products and local produce. The Jackson Farmers Market is a popular market for local residents. It is open daily during peak season, from spring to September and October.

Casey Jones

Jackson, a small city in the South, is known for its Southern culture and music legends. The city is also known for its vibrant downtown and Civil War battlefields.

Jackson TN has a lot to offer, whether you want to spend a day with your kids or just relax and enjoy a cool beverage. Sky Zone Trampoline park is one of the most popular attractions.

Brooks Shaw’s Old Country Store Restaurant at Casey Jones Village is a popular option for a meal that is family-friendly. The restaurant offers a variety of salads and chicken fried or glazed with a fried egg at a reasonable price. Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum, Providence House and other attractions are also located on the site. The Wellwood Store and Village Baker are also historic sites, as is the Judge Milton Brown Railcar.

Rusty Robinson’s TV and Movie Car Museum

Rusty Robinson merged two of his passions, cars and entertainment, to create one the most unique attractions of Jackson Tennessee. The TV and Movie Car Museum displays classic rides from movies and TV shows in a museum environment. Visitors can see vehicles from The Fast and the Furious, Wayne’s World and the Beverly Hillbillies. They will also find a DeLorean and a replica Herbie.

You won’t see the 1958 Plymouth Fury from Stephen King’s horror film Christine, which was released in 1983. This particular car was bought by a man who slowly changed his personality. Robinson displays a lighter collection of movie props, including the roof of Ricky Bobby’s Wonder Bread Stock Car in Talladega Nights.

Tennessee Legends of Music Museum

Jackson’s culture is deeply rooted with music. You can easily find venues that play everything from blues and country to rockabilly. Jackson’s unique blending of musical styles, sandwiched between the hotbeds for country & Western (Nashville), and blues (Memphis), gave birth to rockabilly and later rock and roll.

Hunt Pipkin, Lakelin lemmings and other local talent have made their way from Jackson clubs to the national spotlight. They won the official TN Songwriters Week qualifier held on February 12, 2022. The event promotes local music venues and songwriters, while also recognizing legendary songwriters.

There are also a number of restaurants and boutiques in the city. Jackson Bowling and Skating Family Fun Center offers family-friendly activities like mini-golf, bowling and skating.
